I strongly believe that people have to take responsibility for their actions, specially when it comes to our finances, and part of that responsibility is to educate yourself before going into debt. Most Americans do not have the slightest clue about the legality and structure of financial debt and the banks know it and use this "mass ignorance" to make healthy profits from the American consumer.

I came across someone’s list of 2009’s Top 10 psychology studies, and thought it was very interesting reading. You really should click on this link and see the original post by David DiSalvo, but Below is his list.

1. If you have to choose between buying something or spending the money on a memorable experience, go with the experience.

2. First impressions are all about value. The subjective evaluation we make when meeting someone new includes–to put it bluntly–what’s in it for us.
